NATASHA MERCADO is an actress, director, & theatre arts educator— but always a clown. Her love for weird comedy started at the Upright Citizens Brigade where she extensively explored all things related to improv & sketch on both coasts. She’s also studied with some of the best clowns like Dr. Brown, Chad Damiani, the Idiot Workshop, Eric Davis, the London Clown School and Philippe Gaulier, to name a few. Since then, she created the first ever monthly clown show at UCB called “Send in the Clowns” & her work has been featured on Adult Swim, HBO & TBS. She internationally tours her award-winning solo show “Tree”— who's accolades include an encore run at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Stage Raw’s “Top Ten Shows in LA” 2022, Times Colonist’s “5 Must See Shows” 2022, Victoria Fringe “Best Clown & Physical Theatre 2022” & “Most Fringe Buzz” Orlando Fringe 2023. “A master comic storyteller… non-stop hilarity" - Stage Raw Arts & Culture Review “Daring & gut-bustingly funny” - the Jenny Revue “Deep, dark and slightly sexual” the Winnipeg Free Press
