Not Scenework but SHOWwork

Class Description: A lot of improv shows are just a loose montage of scenes, with a callback or two at the end. Maybe we can, I don't know, change that? This class will focus on using scenes to create a whole piece that feels like a full, cohesive show. Not in a complicated, "this form was done 5 times in Chicago in 1997 and it takes 6 hours to complete" way, but by deciding what our goals and approaches are going to be before setting foot on stage. We'll go over how to decide what sort of show a group wants to do, and how to best execute it by deciding on how to start it, the tone, different types of edits, when to expect callbacks, and how to end the whole thing. We won't be looking to make the perfect show, but more practice thinking about what a show could be. (And, there will probably be some scenework mixed in there too. Because how could there not be?)

This is an advanced class. You should have taken at least 4 levels of long-form improv from any theater.
Class will meet in Room A.
